#SM4SCNYC Wrap Up – Thank You New York!

April 5, 2009 – 4:55 pm by Gradon Tripp

What a night!

It’s taken two days to come home and add everything up. Here are a few numbers for you:

  • 189 attendees registed for SM4SC NYC through the eventbrite page, raising a total of $5,371.12.
  • Before (and after) the event, including Meg’s Stay In and Help Us and Matt’s Ten Buck Thursday, there were 58 individual donations to our Firstgiving page, totaling $2,348.12.
  • We had five corporate donations totaling $2,150.
  • At the event, the total amount raised through the silent auction, raffle and at-the-door ticket sales totaled $4,667.

All in all, SM4SC NYC raised $13,491.49 for City Harvest. That equates to over 48,184 lbs of food rescued to feed hungry New Yorkers.

But we’re not done yet. We’re working to reach our goal of $15-20,000 donated to City Harvest. We’re going to work over the next 30 days to raise as much as we can. Stay tuned for more details on that.

I want to thank all of the sponsors for SM4SC NYC, especially the Roger Smith Hotel for their incredible hospitality throughout the night.

Also, huge thanks to Marissa Levy and Walt Ribeiro, who gave amazing performances even though the PA wasn’t cooperating – sorry about that!

Thanks to the volunteers that helped organize, set up and run the event – Biana Bakman, Lisa Lacy, Trish and Mo Darling, Vanessa Jupe, and Bobby.

And thank you to everyone that attended or donated online; and anyone that blogged, retweeted, or otherwise supported SM4SC NYC. It’s the support of the social media community that makes Social Media for Social Change work.

Thank you!
